About Tommy

Our little boy, Thomas Andrew, was born on January 19th 2006. Tommy was our firstborn, the center of our world. He grew up so quickly into a spirited toddler, he was constantly on the move. We joked that T didn't know how to walk - he could only run. He was such a little boy - He loved trains, matchbox cars, daily trips to the playground with Mum, playing with our dog Molly - and most of all - going anywhere in his Daddy's "Truck".

Tommy had such a special bond with us. The three of us did everything together. T was already a seasoned little traveler going on vacations to Mexico and Cape Cod. We ALWAYS said how life couldn't get any better and how incredibly blessed we were to have such a healthy, sweet, happy boy. We were always so proud of him. It didn't matter where we went, someone would always comment on Tommy's curly blond hair or big smile. He made everyone around him feel special.

When we found out T was going to be a big brother, we were ecstatic. Our new addition to the family already had an amazing big brother waiting to show him the ropes. It was a job that Tommy was going to take very seriously. Every night before bedtime, we would have a family hug and say our prayers together. Before Daddy would bring him upstairs, he would kiss Mum's belly and say - nigh nigh Mum, nigh nigh baby.

Sadly, Tommy never had a chance to meet his little brother, as he passed away unexpectedly in his sleep in May 2008. That awful night came without warning or reason. To this day, no one can give us an explanation as to why we lost our beautiful, healthy little boy.

We hope by hosting the 2nd Annual Tommy's Run For A Reason we can continue to raise awareness and help put a stop to SUDC. There is no doubt that Tommy will be with us while we do this. Even though the time we had with him was cut too short, the impact he had on our lives and others will continue on forever.

We greatly appreciate your love, support and participation. We look forward to seeing you all on May 08th 2010.
